Same. I only check JP once a week now anyway, the pace of new articles is so slow and the new FP format sux, so I’ve been Oppo-only for a while now. Once it’s gone, I’m gone too... except maybe Take out, they haven’t gone to sh*t yet!

Jaloponick brought me to Oppo. I stayed here for Oppo not Jalopnick. Jalopnick is a shadow of it’s former self, only a couple of decent writers left and a complete dearth of actual journalism that used to being me here. I think David Tracy timed his euro adventure very well, I feel bad for Mercedes and LJ909. My guess is the blogs are going to get auctioned off or shut.

I guess I was busy getting a job, I didn’t really see this all happening. I got on Drive Tribe when the trio started it. I guess I have to find where to go on there.

Looks like DT also has good support for long-form posts like my aviation stuff. I haven’t really checked it out yet. But there are other tribes devoted to aviation, and one of the mods said that stuff you write and post to Oppo DT could be shared around to other tribes, so that just means a wider readership. Which would be nice.

Yeah I’m poking around right now, I changed everything to sort of match my Oppo-ness so people know my name. Seems like it could be just fine. I go to i09 so it sucks that won’t all be linked in one place. Who knew Jezza, Capt. Slow and Hamster would really be our saviors.

Tom McParland brought me here as a reference when I was getting into my first - and only - car. Ever since then, I’ve grown disinterested in Jalopnik because of the constant ads, the clutter that slowed down my phone, and the middling content that couldn’t get my eyes to settle down.

If Kinja gets replaced by something better, but loses OPPO in the process, we still have a problem.

io9 is the one G/O site that I visit regularly. But what I will NOT miss are the changing panels of articles from GO sites I do NOT visit, particularly the NSFW ones.

That guy on the yellow car looks like his world was imploding. He looked SAD.

The blue Isuzu truck decoupling from the trailer was hilarious.

The old man on a skateboard was weirdly interesting. A guy you’d have a beer with for sure.

That full Alf costume is nightmare fuel.

I have no ill will towards the writers at Jalopnik, however I do have ill will towards their keepers and most of the other “ official” blogs as they are all abjectly terrible.

I look for pictures of my M37 truck in service and when something weird pops up in my Tumblr I keep it for this. I don’t think thats a trailer, it just ripped the bed off the frame.

My visiting Jalopnik and the other main blogs will be greatly reduced if Oppo is banished from Kinja. But not really out of spite. It’s more of a... proximity thing, I guess .

I will still go to i09 for sci fi stuff, it was nice to have replies all in one place though. But Drive Tribe looks like a pretty fancy community, and I think we can just post stuff we usually have been. I always did DOTS but I started doing DOTS and Doggo and Randoms so I guess I will keep it up. We will see what happens, the 2020 theme does not quit.
